The Poor Women Support Organization (PWSO) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2017 under License No. 4203, at the Ministry of Economy, Afghanistan. Founded by a group of dedicated and highly qualified young professionals, PWSO was created with a clear vision: to build an educated, aware society free from poverty and illiteracy — laying the foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable future where no one is left behind.
Our work focuses on women’s health, education, rights, economic empowerment, agriculture & climate change, and research, aiming to achieve sustainable social and economic development across Afghanistan. With multi-year experience in managing and implementing projects on women’s empowerment, reproductive health, and rights advocacy, our team brings both technical expertise and grassroots credibility.
Aligned with Afghanistan’s Transition and Transformation phase, PWSO and its partners are committed to strengthening women’s rights, health systems, human development, and economic growth. By partnering with PWSO, donors contribute directly to empowering Afghan women and girls, advancing human rights, and building sustainable pathways for peace and prosperity.
